Snakes and Ladders, known originally as Moksha Patam, is an ancient Indian board game regarded today as a worldwide classic. The game is a simple race contest based on sheer luck, and is popular with young children.The game is played by two players who take turns rolling a die to see which player goes first. Each player then moves one step forward on their own path until they reach the end of the board. If a player reaches the end of the board before the other player, they win. If a player reaches the end of the board without winning, they lose.
